Moving is rated as 1 of the top 5 most stressful times of your life. However it does not have to be this way if you plan your move in advance. As your Long Beach Island NJ Real Estate, I have compiled this checklist to help you avoid the most common causes for stress:

One Month before Moving:

• Call a moving company or truck rental company if moving yourself
• Gather moving supplies – boxes, tape etc
• Order change of address cards for friends and family
• Sort through closets, attic, garage etc and throw out any items you do not want to take with you
• Enlist the help of friends and family members for the day of the move

Two weeks before moving:
Inform the following companies of your change of address:

• Gas
• Electric
• Water
• Cable
• Telephone
• Bank
• Credit Card Companies
• Medical Insurance
• Doctors and Dentists
• Post office
• Magazine publishers
• Arrange child care for moving day if required
